Cart-Away is a Different Type of Batch
System
Cart-Away systems are not like the
full-sized concrete batching plants. We focus on a much
smaller part of the concrete industry. Consequently, our
concrete batching plants are much smaller in both size and
scope. A standard full-sized batch plant often has multiple
cement silos (all of them 30+ feet tall),
|
aggregate bins that hold hundreds of tons of material,
make tens of thousands of yards per year, and service trucks
in the 80,000 pound range. A Cart-Away concrete batching
system is just the opposite. Cart-Away material loaders do
each of the concrete material batch processes on a very
small scale.
By comparison, Cart-Away uses just one small cement
storage silo that could be placed behind or inside a
standard shop building. The aggregate bins that hold the raw
material are under 100 ton capacities, which is only about
two truckloads of sand and gravel. The typical owner of a
Cart-Away batching system will make money selling concrete
to their customers. But production volumes will be
considerably lower than a full-sized concrete batch plant
that services big trucks. A typical year’s production for a
successful Cart-Away system is just over 1000 yards as
compared to 20,000 yards from a truck feeding batch plant.
Perhaps the largest difference in the scale of the two
systems is that the end user takes home a small load,
usually one yard or less of concrete in a concrete mixer
trailer that they tow behind their own truck. With Cart-Away
there are no large noisy truck rumbling through a quiet
