Scott Crist , Product Manager

Scott Crist is the most experienced trailer-based ready-mix expert in the business! We have nicknamed him the “Sultan of Cement”. He started his career in trailer-based concrete at the age of 20 by operating a old Sunrise plant and tub trailers. And over the next 18-years Scotty operated a B&B auger plant with tub trailers, a Cart Away wet-auger plant with mixing trailers and finally a Cart-Away dry system.

He is knowledgeable about every type of concrete plantthat mixes ready-mix for trailers. He has worked behind the counter at a Landscape Center, hooked up trailers, cleaned up and repaired everything that could possibly have broken on a concrete system. When you have an operational question, Scotty can understand it from your prospective and help you get going fast.

Of course Scotty is also a sales person and for the past 7-years has had the responsibility to see that all preparations for your successful start-up are completed. Scotty has stood before city councils on behalf of our customers to lobby and win approval for installations. He has met with engineers to design special footing plans. And he has answered countless questions from contractors that are doing the site work for installations. Scotty is part of the extra value you receive when purchasing from Cart-Away. Others can only discount their price and leave you to your own trial and error to succeed.

  Monte Pardee, Parts Manager

The Cart-Away support team includes Monte Pardee, who brings 15-years of concrete experience to your Cart-Away business, including 6-years in concrete precast, 4-years in short- pour operations and 5-years in construction management.

Monte has the actual field experience working with concrete customers, repairing concrete equipment and teaching others the concrete business that you can benefit from as well.

He has been responsible for the operation of a Sunrise plant with tub trailers and a fully automated Mixer Systems paddle mixer and CLS slab plant.  He has operated the parts department for two trailer-based companies for 5-years. He is an active member of our installation group and knows the parts for your system inside and out.

Bruce Christensen, General Manager

Bruce Christensen has the most grey hair of the group, probably from the years of sales and marketing management or his five children. 

He managed a building material company with concrete trailers for 5-years and owned a concrete precasting company for three.  He served as the sales & marketing manager for U-cart of America for 3-years and has been with Cart-Away for the past five.  

Much of what has been written about trailer-based concrete systems has come from his word processor.  Bruce will assist you to understand the opportunities available in the Cart-Away concrete business.

Tom Vail, CEO

Tom Vail is the president and owner of Cart-Away Concrete Systems, Inc.  He is a graduate, in Engineering from the Air Force Academy and has been involved in all aspects of metal fabrication for 31-years. If it needs to be bent, rolled, shaped and welded he knows how to get it done.  He has been instrumental in the design and fabrication of the modern dry-batch loader and concrete mixing trailer.

Tom purchased the Cart-Away product line 12-years ago and it has grown to the #1 supplier of concrete trailers in the world.  He is 100% committed to your success!
